EADS carries out ship modification for the Finnish navy

The Aerospace Defense News website reported on April 26 that EADS had obtained a contract from the Finnish Navy to modify its two "Hamma" class frigates. The contract is worth 15 million euros, including the production of the Advanced Naval Combat Management System (ANCS), the TRS-3D multi-state radar and the MSSR2000. The application of these products will largely meet the future operational needs of the Finnish Navy. After this modification, the Finnish naval vessels will have a greater ability to protect the naval coastline and participate in international crisis management tasks. The project will be completed in 2008 and the Finnish Aker Finnyards shipyard will be responsible for the ship modification work.
