The ESP software of some vehicles within the above range (1) lacks the identification and control functions of the torque peaks that may occur under extreme conditions of the vehicle. When the vehicle starts on the wet road surface with the track mode limit and the valve is fully open, the fixed flange of the rear axle differential may be broken due to the huge torque, causing the rear axle differential to tilt and the drive shaft may be broken. As a result, the vehicle loses power and increases the risk of collision, which poses a safety hazard. Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. will upgrade the ESP control unit software for vehicles within the recall to eliminate potential hazards.
The ESP software parameters of some vehicles in the above range (2) are incorrect, and the ESP software with the enhanced version of the limit control system may have communication failure under certain conditions. When driving the enhanced version of the limit control system, if there is communication between the enhanced version of the distance control system and the ESP, the vehicle will maintain the current engine torque regardless of the speed of the vehicle or the driver's brake, but the vehicle can Brake at any time or shift the gearbox to neutral. Depending on the engine torque at the time, a larger braking force may be required for braking, and the braking distance may increase accordingly, increasing the risk of collision of the vehicle and posing a safety hazard. Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. will upgrade the ESP control unit software for vehicles within the recall to eliminate potential hazards. Stock vehicles will be sold after the defect has been eliminated.
