China's tire exports encountered "new troubles"

On April 19th, the 107th Canton Fair met the last day of the first exhibition. In the auto parts exhibition area, exquisite tire booths have already gone to “building” space, and other booths are also rare for customers. People who come and go in a hurry mostly leave the exchange of business cards. “These merchants generally do not place orders. They just go back and follow the business cards to get acquainted with the situation of the company. The main purpose of the company's participation in the exhibition is to develop potential new customers and broaden the export channels.” Overseas Sales Department, Guangzhou Huanan Rubber Tyre Co., Ltd. Manager Wu Chunxia spoke to reporters.

Looking at the crowd, Wu Chunxia, who was a little idle, chatted with reporters about the “US Tire Special Protection Case” that was one year after another. This was also the start of the company’s efforts to develop new markets.

The tire exports have not been damaged. The impact of the “United States’ special tire protection plan” on the company lasted for 3 months to 6 months. After all, the tariff was adjusted from 4% to 35%, which greatly reduced the export profits of products. Now we have Properly control the proportion of products exported to the United States, especially those products with smaller specifications and less profit, will selectively cooperate with customers and control sales volume and orders, said Wu Chunxia.

On April 20, a year ago, the American Iron and Steel Workers’ Federation applied to the US International Trade Commission for the investigation of China's production of tires for passenger cars on the grounds that China’s tire exports to the United States disrupted the US market. In September, the White House stated in a statement that it will impose a 35% tariff on tires imported from China in the first year, a 30% tariff in the second year, and a 25% tariff in the third year. In the financial crisis, the United States "tire special security case" made Chinese tire exporters worse.

However, Wu Chunxia stated that from the beginning of last October, tire manufacturers all over the world are increasing their prices. Most of the strong tire manufacturers have fixed large customers. On the basis of mutual understanding and support, the days are still alive. Not bad. In 2009, South China Rubber has developed more than 100 new customers, including many customers in Africa, the Middle East, and South America.

"At present, the company's production is running at full capacity, and some low-profit orders will be pushed out.

In the high-end market, the company's Wanli tires have a better profit margin. Therefore, although the overall profit of the company has decreased compared with that before the financial crisis, it can still be done. After September of this year, the tariff on exports of American tires will fall by 5%, and the situation will become better and better. "Wu Chunxia said.

Raw materials soared and the EU trade barriers became a new annoyance. "Raw raw material prices have gone crazy. In the same period last year, natural rubber at $1300/ton has risen to $3,400/ton. Product profits have been squeezed to the limit." The booth of the export department, Yu Ning, told reporters.

Yu Ning said that Shandong Triangle has more than 20 years of professional tire production history, and even has a price-oriented position in the industry. However, since the beginning of this year, as raw material prices have risen, the products have been forced to increase prices, and the diluted profits have reached the extreme.

In contrast, the impact of tire protection on the United States exports to the product is only temporary, while natural rubber imported from Thailand and Malaysia occupies 30% to 40% of the production cost. These soaring raw materials make the company very helpless. .

Another thing that Yu Ning is more worried about is the EU trade barriers. Yu Ning said: "From the perspective of this year's participation, we did not feel the recovery of the financial crisis. In particular, there are fewer European merchants and sales in Europe are even worse than those in the United States. Therefore, we are very worried that Europe will follow the United States and restrict the export of Chinese tires. more and more."

In fact, European trade barriers have already been revealed. Guangzhou Huanan Rubber Wu Chunxia told reporters: “We can feel that the European trade policy on China’s tires is tightening recently. They may not impose tariffs like the United States, but they can use harsher measures such as environmental protection standards and Swiss regulations. Restricting the import of Chinese tyres, which is as worrying as the exchange rate issue for companies."

ELECTRIC DRIVE CUTTING TORCH CARRIAGE

An improvement over mechanical guides is an electric motor-driven cutting torch carriage. The speed of the motor can be varied allowing the welder to cut to dimensions and to cut at a specific speed. A typical motor driven carriage has four wheels: one driven by a reduction gear, two on swivels (castor style), and one freewheeling. The torch is mounted on the side of the carriage and is adjusted up and down by a gear and rack. The rack is a part of the special torch. The torch also can be tilted for bevel cuts. This machine comes with a straight two-groove track and has a radial bar for use in cutting circles and arcs. A motor-driven cutting torch cutting a circle is shown in figure 4-25. The carriage is equipped with an off-and-on switch, a reversing switch, a clutch, and a speed-adjusting dial that is calibrated in feet per minute.

Figure 4-26 shows an electric drive carriage on a straight track being used for plate beveling. The operator must ensure that the electric cord and gas hoses do not become entangled on anything during the cutting operation. The best way to check for hose, electric cord, and torch clearance is to freewheel the carriage the full length of the track by hand.

You will find that the torch carriage is a valuable asset during deployment. This is especially true if your shop is called upon to produce a number of identical parts in quantity. Such an assignment might involve the fabrication of a large supply of handhole covers for runway fixtures, or another assignment might be the production of a large quantity of thick base plates for vertical columns. When using the torch carriage, you should lay the track in a straight line along a line parallel to the edge of the plate you are going to cut. Next, you light the torch and adjust the flame for the metal you are cutting. Move the carriage so the torch flame preheats the edge of the plate and then open the cutting oxygen valve and turn on the carriage motor. The machine begins moving along the track and continues to cut automatically until the end of the cut is reached. When the cut is complete, you should do the following: promptly turn off the cutting oxygen, turn off the current, and extinguish the flame--in that order. The cutting speed depends upon the thickness of the steel being cut
