Dana Holding and Bosch Rexroth signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a 50-50 joint venture company to jointly develop and produce gearboxes for off-highway vehicles.
Dana Corporation stated that the joint venture company is located in Arco, Italy and will design, manufacture and sell hydraulic mechanical power split transmission (HVT) for the global off-road vehicle parts market.
Dana Company stated that this advanced drive transmission system is aimed at customers with higher demand for fuel economy performance, acceleration performance, emission index and maneuverability. Both companies will provide human and financial support for the joint venture company.
Dana and Bosch Rexroth are currently working together to develop a power split transmission for construction machinery.
Dana Chief Technology Officer George Constand revealed: "Dener and Bosch Rexroth will complement each other in a wide range of technical areas, so that the joint venture company will be unique in the advanced drive transmission market for off-road vehicles."
