The results introduced the concept of biorefinery into the development of biomass resources, breaking the traditional concept of simply producing single products from biomass, using corn cob processing residues as raw materials to produce ethanol with a cellulose content of about 60%, and cellulose conversion. The rate reached more than 86%, and the tested products reached the fuel ethanol quality standard, achieving full utilization of raw materials, maximizing product value and maximizing land use efficiency. At the same time, this achievement avoids three problems in the collection, transportation, pretreatment, and pentose utilization of cellulose raw materials. Based on this achievement technology, Longli Company built the first domestic industrial equipment with corncob waste residue as raw material and annual output of 3,000 tons of ethanol.
