Chenguang Institute won the award for tetrafluoroethylene cracking method

The patent of the external heating type tetrafluoroethylene (F22) and water vapor mixed pyrolysis method and heating device of Zhongyao Chenguang Research Institute of Technology has recently won the 10th China Patent Excellence Award.
At present, domestic and international production of tetrafluoroethylene mainly includes two methods: air tube cracking and water vapor dilution and cracking. The water vapor dilution and cracking method is one of the important methods for industrial production of tetrafluoroethylene because of its high conversion rate and less by-products. However, this method has disadvantages such as large amount of water vapor, high energy consumption, and short service life of the heating furnace tube. Chenguang Institute uses the external heating type F22 and steam mixing cracking method and heating device to overcome the shortcomings of the prior art. The device is a mixture of superheated steam and F22, and is input into a specially designed external heating reaction device for cracking reaction, and then is purified by quenching and distillation to obtain pure tetrafluoroethylene monomer.
The invention has the characteristics of low performance requirements of the furnace tube, long service life and convenient control and adjustment of the temperature of the cracking reaction, and the hydrochloric acid concentration of the byproduct can reach 10% to 20%. In addition, the technology saves energy by 15% to 30% over adiabatic reaction technology, reduces operating costs by about 10%, and at the same time enables the entire production process to achieve cleaner production.
