Plastics consumption in Gulf countries will increase significantly

According to the latest report released by the Gulf Industry Consulting Group (GOIC), the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region will become the region with a high average annual per capita plastic consumption. In 2012, the plastic consumption in the region will reach 3.2 million tons/year, 900,000 tons/year more than in 2006, and the per capita plastic consumption will increase from 67 kilograms in 2006 to 78 kilograms.
The Gulf Cooperation Council is a regional economic organization in the Gulf region, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain.
