Flotation example of copper-molybdenum ore

Copper-molybdenum ore Dexing porphyry copper deposit is a large, metal ore minerals are mainly pyrite, chalcopyrite and molybdenite, followed chalcocite, covellite, silver, gold and the like. Non-metallic minerals mainly include quartz and mica . The useful mineral inlays in the ore are finer in size, and the chalcopyrite, pyrite, and chalcopyrite are closely symbiotic, and the fine particles are unevenly embedded. According to the nature of the ore, the plant adopts a stage grinding and flotation process, and the raw ore is subjected to mixed flotation of copper molybdenum and sulfur under coarse grinding conditions, and then the coarse concentrate is reground to separate and float copper molybdenum and sulfur to obtain copper and molybdenum respectively. Three concentrate products of sulfur, gold and silver precious metals are mainly concentrated in copper concentrates. The principle of grinding and floating principle of the factory is shown in Figure 1. The final selection index is shown in Table 1.

Due to the high quality requirements for molybdenum concentrates, the concentrate contains more than 45% to 47% molybdenum. Although molybdenum ore is good in floatability, the ore grade is very low, generally 0.01% to 0.06%, and the enrichment ratio is often several thousand times. Therefore, it should be selected several times, usually 6 to 10 times.
