Chlorite

[Chemical Composition] Chlorite is a group of minerals with fairly complex chemical composition. It includes a wide variety of types, which can be simply divided into two subfamilies:

[genesis and occurrence] The minerals of this family are widely distributed. Magnesium-rich chlorite is chlorite, which is mainly produced in metamorphic rocks (such as green mud schist) and various medium-low temperature hydrothermal alteration rocks. The iron-magnesium minerals in magmatic rocks are most easily converted into chlorite by the action of hydrothermal fluid. Iron-rich chlorite (mainly chlorite) is mainly produced in sedimentary iron ore and pyrite. Siderite symbiosis.
