According to the US media leftlanenews on May 29, Renault Automotive Group will work with LG Chemicals to develop a new generation of batteries for electric vehicles.
According to South Korea's BusinessKorea report, Renault said that it will cooperate with LG and plan to double the mileage of its current electric vehicles. The current cruising range of the Renault Zoe electric hatchback is 90 miles (about 145 kilometers), which means that its future mileage target is 180 miles (approximately 288 kilometers).
Although Zoe is Renault’s fourth battery electric vehicle, the sales of electric vehicles are still unsatisfactory, and they are far from the traditional models. Renault blames this phenomenon on the lack of marketing strategies and wrong interpretations of buyers. And although Renault himself admits that according to the different driving conditions of the outside world, the speed varies widely, ranging from 60 miles to 130 miles.
If the electric vehicle can overcome the limitations of the cruising range, it will greatly ease the worries of car buyers.
