China Drying Network News Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released on September 6 "2012 Industrial Elimination of Backward Production Capacity List (Second Batch)", involving steelmaking, steelmaking, coke, ferroalloy, calcium carbide, copper (recycled copper) smelting, lead (Recovered Lead) 182 companies in 15 fields including smelting, smelting of zinc (including renewed zinc), cement (clinker and mill), flat glass, paper, alcohol, leather, printing and dyeing, chemical fiber, and lead storage batteries. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology requires that the relevant provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) take effective measures and strive to close down the backward production capacity of enterprises listed on the public notice list by the end of September 2012 and ensure that they are completely dismantled before the end of Transferring from neighboring countries.
In April 2012, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the elimination of backward production capacity targets this year; on July 9, the first list of companies was announced, involving a total of 2,579 enterprises in 19 industrial sectors. The number of companies on the second batch of listings was significantly less than the first batch.
The second batch of the list shows that there are a large number of cement companies involved in this time, with a total of 58 companies. In terms of regions, cement companies in Hebei Province have the largest number of 29 cement companies, followed by Chongqing and 13 companies.
The cement industry in Hebei Province has experienced excess capacity since 2009. In the list of lagging production capacity that was issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2011, 140 cement companies were included in Hebei. According to calculations, the outdated production capacity of cement in Hebei Province in 2011 is about 27 million tons. In fact, the list of the first batch of companies this year also involved a lot of Hebei cement companies, including 174 Hebei cement companies in a total of 1053 cement companies.
