New Progress in the Design and Synthesis of Second Order Nonlinear Optical Crystallites in Fujian Structure

Second-order nonlinear optical materials are widely used in the field of laser and optical communication, while metal iodate crystals have strong frequency doubling effect and wide transmission band, and high thermal stability and optical damage threshold are in the second order Nonlinear optical crystal material occupies a very important position. Under the auspices of the State Key Commission of Fundamental and Surface Projects of the National Fund Commission, major research project nurturing projects and the Chinese Academy of Sciences strategic pilot science and technology projects, the research group led by Prof. Mao Jiangao, State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry, Iodate system to build a novel structure of metal iodate fluoride, the use of metal fluoride three-dimensional structure to limit the direction of the iodate ions arranged so that each of the iodate ion polarization effects superimposed on each other and showed a large coefficient of multiplication . Under the guidance of this academic thought, this group got the first iodate fluoride Bi (IO3) F2 crystal by the method of hydrothermal synthesis. The iodate ions in the structure are neatly arranged in the six-dimensional [BiF2] + ions In the ring hole. The compound exhibits a very high octave effect, which is 11.5 times that of KDP (KH2PO4) and is phase-matched with a wide transmission band (0.3-11 μm) and is therefore a compound with Second-order nonlinear optical crystal materials with potential applications. Theoretical calculations show that the percentage contribution of IO3 and [BiF2] + groups to d14 is 77.1% and 21.8%, respectively. Relevant findings are published online as a VIP paper by Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (DOI: 10.1002 / anie.201611770). This work provides a new synthesis strategy for the design of novel iodate second-order nonlinear optical crystal materials in the future. In addition, they synthesize K (VO) 2O2 (IO3) 3 (I) by the synthetic strategy that iodine and distorted octahedra of d0 electron conformational transition metal such as VO6 and NbO6 are recombined into the same compound. 3.6 x KTP) (J. Am. Chem. Soc., 2011, 133, 5561-5573), NaVO2 (IO3) 2 ) And BaNbO (IO3) 5 (14 x KDP) (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2009, 131, 9486-9487). Due to their systematic research work in this research area, the group is invited to publish a review paper in the International Journal of Coordination Chemistry and systematically introduce the related research work of the research group (Coord. Chem. Rev. 2015 , 288, 1-17).
