A few days ago, Northrop Grumman will provide advanced marine navigation systems for 20 Indian Coast Guard fast patrol vessels, which will be built by the Indian Cochi Shipyard. The first set of ship systems is expected to be delivered at the end of 2012 and will be delivered in 2015.
It is reported that the contract is obtained by Northrop Grumman Indian distributor Marine Electricals Ltd. Northrop Grumman's Sperry Marine business unit will be responsible for providing navigation packages, including VisionMaster? Total Watch? multi-function display, ECDIS, autopilot, magnetic compass, new NAVIGAT 3000? fiber optic gyro compass. The contract also includes spare parts, factory testing and engineering support services.
