Dong Yang: There is no overheating problem in China’s auto industry

Dong Yang: There is no overheating problem in China’s auto industry Dong Yang, executive vice president of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said on the 17th that the Chinese automobile industry has entered a normal, steady, and sustainable growth status as a whole. There is no problem of overheated development, but the energy and environment brought about by the increase in the number of automobiles. Problems such as traffic and transportation should be given enough attention.

Dong Yang attended the “China Trucking Capital” awarding ceremony in Shiyan, Hubei Province. “In the first quarter of this year, the growth rate of China’s auto production and sales was relatively high, mainly due to the very low value of the same period of last year. The growth rate in the second quarter was also relatively high. It is high, and the growth rate in the third quarter is between 14% and 17%, which is a very good speed."

He said that this shows that the growth rate of China's auto production and sales volume is returning to rational growth from high-speed growth, and the overall production and sales of automobiles have entered a steady, good, and normal growth state in the third quarter.

In response to the pressures on energy, environment and transportation currently faced by the development of China's auto industry, Dong Yang said that as China gradually moves into the automobile society, these problems need to be solved in a coordinated manner. At present, large cities with traffic congestion such as Beijing should vigorously develop public transport, and the major markets for the future automobile industry will shift to the Midwest and second and third tier cities.

According to the estimates of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China's auto production and sales volume will increase by 25% from the previous year to 17 million vehicles this year; by 2015, the Chinese auto market demand will reach 25 million vehicles.

On the same day, China Association of Automobile Manufacturers awarded the title of “China Truck Capital” to Shiyan, Hubei, the birthplace of Dongfeng Motor.

According to reports, Shiyan is the only city awarded the title of "China Truck Capital" by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, and is the "China's No. 1 and the world's top three" commercial vehicle production base. Shiyan will strive to achieve the goal of achieving 1 million cars production and sales in the city and 100 billion yuan in the total output value of the automobile industry by 2015.
