Window color change from transparent to opaque

Imagine not using curtains or blinds. Conversely, for your windows where the sun is too strong, you just need to flip the switch to make them completely opaque. A research group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has developed a method that can make this a reality. Its technology uses electrochromic materials that can instantly change the color of the glass from transparent to nearly black by the application of electricity. This of course will evolve into the future and can change the color of the windows, but according to researchers, their creation has a faster response time and requires less energy.

Other technologies take several minutes to change materials, and some cannot achieve transparency. In addition, there is a constant flow rate of the required window for the opaque method. This one requires power only when switching colors, and the window can remain in its nearly black state.
To ensure that it has a nearly instantaneous response time, researchers use sponge-like materials called metal-organic frameworks that can rapidly conduct electrons and ions. Electric power is applied to the window with a negative charge, while positive ions in an effort to impact. That is what causes the effect of color change. They also think that mixing the windows red and green gives a chemical that is very close to black in color.
MIT professor said: "Technology can lead to quite significant energy savings by reducing the need for air conditioning. You can just press the switch when the sun goes through the window and put it dark." He also believes that this may lead to low-power smart displays, similar to electronic ink. Although researchers have demonstrated that their methods work in the laboratory, they still need to create a practical work sample to attract investors and get their creation into our home.
