Sanai launches vacuum injection molding machine

Sanai will be listed on the "SC Series" vacuum injection molding machine for prototype processing. Vacuum injection molding is a molding method in which a thermosetting resin is injected into a silicone rubber mold under vacuum to obtain a desired shape. Since a metal mold is not required, a high-precision prototype can be produced at low cost. “It is very suitable for small quantities of products with a supply of only a few hundred units per year, such as medical devices”.

The basic process of vacuum injection molding is as follows: First, a silicone rubber mold is produced according to a master model, and then the prepared mold is placed in a closed space (in an injection molding machine), and vacuumed, and then a thermosetting resin is injected into the mold. The thermosetting resin is a polyurethane (PUR) material. After the PUR is completely injected, the mold is transferred from the vacuum injection molding machine into the drying furnace and heated. Most of the main models are made by cutting light and ABS resin (ACRYLONITRILE BUTADIENE STYRENE acrylonitrile, butylene, styrene).

Although there is no need to try again after having the main model, the advantage of the trial production based on vacuum injection is that a molded article having excellent mechanical properties can be obtained. According to the specific material, the properties of various resins such as ABS, polypropylene (PP), and acrylic resin can be obtained. Further, it is also possible to perform difficult molding such as multicolor molding. "Metal molds can do it (the vacuum injection molding of silicone rubber molds can also be done)." This SC series is a new product after a lapse of 20 years. Compared with the original model, there are mainly five improvements: (1) the production capacity is nearly doubled; (2) the price is reduced to less than half; (3) the silicone rubber mold is easier to pick and place; (4) can be used Larger silicone rubber mold; (5) Eliminated the drain tube used by the vacuum pump.

(1) is achieved by using a large-capacity pump to shorten the time required to form a vacuum inside the device. In the case of using a silicone rubber mold which is molded one by one, 12 to 14 moldings can be completed in 8 hours. "By shortening the time required for molding, the service life of the silicone rubber mold is prolonged, and the number of formable silicone rubber molds has increased from 20 to 25 of the original model to 40 to 50" (clear water). In addition, the pump is implemented by means of oil circulation (5).

(2) is achieved by changing the processing method of the stainless steel member. The original model method cuts from the entire piece of material, while the new model method bends and welds the sheet, thus reducing material costs. At the same time, by transferring to China, the labor costs are reduced and the processing costs are increased.

The SC series consists of three models, and the size of the "workroom" in which the silicone rubber mold is placed is different.
