The first phase of the project started in April this year with an investment of 80 million yuan. The designed capacity is to produce 75,000 tons of ethanol per year, 500,000 tons of gasoline alcohol and 500,000 tons of diesel alcohol. The annual sales revenue will be 2.1 billion yuan, and the annual profit and tax 1. 300 million yuan; the second phase of project investment 120 million yuan, planned to be completed in October 2006; phase III project investment 120 million yuan, planned for completion in October 2007. According to the plan, at the beginning of this year, the manufacturers signed planting contracts with planting farmers, and they have now begun to purchase sweet sorghum grains and straw in accordance with the contracts they have signed.
