Yesterday was informed that the acquisition of assets of Wuhan Zhongyu Automobile Co., Ltd. to be transformed, Dongfeng Panan is about to produce a 1.3-liter mini car in Han, with an initial annual output of 100,000 vehicles.
Currently, low fuel consumption and economical mini-vehicles are favored in Europe, with sales accounting for 32% of total vehicle sales in Europe. Experts pointed out that the substitution of domestic mini-vehicles for agricultural vehicles and motorcycles is an inevitable trend, and a considerable part of the country’s 25 million motorcycles and 15 million agricultural vehicles are facing upgrading.
Dongfeng Junan was established in June 2003. Its leading product is a miniature commercial vehicle. It is optimistic about the strong purchasing power of second- and third-tier cities and rural areas. Dongfeng Junan has set foot in the mini-car market and independently developed a 1.3-liter sedan with a designed production capacity of 200,000 units. Initial production capacity 100,000 vehicles will be put into operation within the year.
According to the introduction of Wuhan Economic Development Zone, the project will be put into production, with an additional production value of 8 to 100 billion yuan and 5,000 new jobs. Drive more than 30 supporting parts companies to follow up and set up factories, with an output value of about 4 billion yuan.
In addition to Dongfeng Pan’an, there are a total of 7 auto OEMs in Wuhan Development Zone, with low-, medium-, and high-end automotive products offering a complete range of products. The completeness is second only to Changchun. The total automobile production capacity for the year will reach 970,000 units, and by 2010 it will have a scale of about 2 million vehicles.
